  • NO. I WOULD NEVER MAKE A CONTRIBUTION IN THE NAME OF ANYONE, UNLESS THEY ARE DEAD...BUT GIFTS SHOULD BE TO BE APPRECIATED. IF THE PERSON SUGGESTED THAT HE OR SHE WOULDN'T LIKE A GIFT AND PREFERRED THAT A DONATION BE GIVEN IN THEIR NAME, THEN IT WOULD BE GREAT, OTHERWISE, IT IS ONLY A TAX DEDUCTION FOR YOUR TAXES. I PERSONALLY PREFER A GIFT. AND IF YOU WOULD WANT TO GIVE A CHARITY GIFT, DO SO BUT NOT IN PLACE OF MY GIFT I LIKE TO ENJOY MY GIFTS.... MY 2 CENTS WORTH...CORDIALLY, AC
  • That is what my partner and I are doing this Christmas. We plan to tell our family members what we intend to do, but haven't yet done so. I'll et you know later! ;)
  • I personally have not. But, ever since I was a kid, all the adults in my family decided that we have more than almost the rest of the world. In light of starving people... ect. They decided to give gifts to people in other countries in a family members name. For example, they would give someone a goat for milk, or chickens for eggs, or a year of school. The kids had Christmas as usual, but the adults felt that a lot of money was wasted at Christmas. They told them with a card-- the company that they did that with would send it to them.
