• Most of the homes that are being built are sold jobs. The buyers don't want to buy another home plan that is already complete. Also, builders are continuing to build hoping that the homes will sell. As crazy as it seems, they don't want to be caught without any inventory homes IF/WHEN the market should suddenly turn around. Don't forget, the builders are paying for the lots even if they are not building.
  • Maybe the market will have recovered by the time the houses are built?
  • Because once you know exactly what you want, you don't want to settle for something that doesn't meet your expectations, even if you can get it cheaper. It's still the largest expense you'll most likely commit to, so you want to be happy with it.
  • They have lots of money to spend and they can afford to be picky about where it is and what it looks like!
