No, he was born in Hawaii, my home state. Ironically, McCain was born in Panama but the issue does not come up as often.

No, it is not true. It is something people say to attempt to spread fear and distrust towards him. All presidential candidates' birthplace is determined during campaigning; any citizen not born in America is ineligible for the office of the president.
