There needs to be a gathering place of sorts, like a local Atheist Hall.

Nope. Atheists get together to go to Unitarian churches, vote for Nader, shop at Whole foods, and a whole bunch of other communal things.

Somewhat. It is because we are not driven by a fanatic desire to go to heaven. Really, if you think about it, it would only be slightly easier to organize Atheists than it would be to organize the Anarchists.

It all depends on the geographical area. Living in the Bable Belt takes care of that problem

Wholeheartedly. We don't have a unifying concept other than agreeing that the god of the country we live in doesn't appear to exist, in all ages.
