  • Not for some time. It's OK to very briefly handle them when first born to make sure the amniotic sac and the umbillical cord has been removed, but if you over-handle the kittens too young the mother will reject them. If you need to move them to clean the bedding that is fine but until they get to about 2 weeks old can you start really handling them.
  • That depends on when the mother allows you. And that depends entirely on how trusting she is and how much reason you've given her to trust. Make sure your hands are clean.
  • I'd guess after 6 weeks
