Conservatives and republicans used to have plenty of respect for each other. It's only been in the last 15 - 20 years that they have become so severely divided, so I'm not surprised. 30 years goes beyond that.
-
Not at all! Opposites attract each other all throughout nature. :)
-
Nope, I'm not shocked.
-
Almost as bad as an atheist and baptist getting ready to celebrate the silver 25th wedding anniversary!
-
No. My Republican mom and Democrat dad have been married nearly 50 years.
-
No. My Republican husband and I just celebrated our 18th. But, my grandma almost disowned me!
-
Not sure if I'm shocked but I think that it's awesome! =) COngrats to them!
-
No, make one of them Vulcan and the other Klingon. Then I'll be shocked.
-
VERY!!!
-
Yes :O I couldn't live with my friend who's hardcore democrat.
-
No, just politics. Congrats to them on their 30th:)
-
No, not really. My parents were kinda the same way. I'm pretty conservative and my best friend is a big-time liberal. We have lively conversations sometimes but we also respect each other, so we are able to remain friends.
-
Not really. I think if two people love each other, having a difference of opinion shouldn't matter. I'm christian, and my husband is pagan. But, it doesn't stop me from loving him as a person. But, congratulations!
-
No. Rarely to couples agree on everything. Congrats to them!
-
I'm quite happy with my wife, who happens to be the polar opposites on many things - politics foremost. We don't even agree on the individual issues - much less on the party we are inclined to agree with. Our differences are so large and many, that we quickly learned to respect each other's opinion. I love her after all, even though she is always wrong! Congratulations to your parents!
-
Nope. My husband and I are the same, going on 20 years. You may think we stay together if only to cancel each other's votes! But nope, we love each other and just don't talk about politics more then once a week.
-
Not shocked, but congrats to them both! :) I'm more "shocked" that they have been married that long, wo a divorce rather than due to political ties. See political ties shouldn't hold people back from getting things done, by working together.... regardless of political parties.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. Not really. I believe they act civily and respect eachother like most Democrats and Rebulicans(especially those in office)ought to act like. If the chuckleheads in Washington took them as an example MAYBE good things would actually get done around this cracker barrel.
-
I suppose this is a good example of the expression "Opposites Attract". Well done to them.
