  • the mol is an SI base unit, its a unit of amount of a substance, something like "the amount of substance of a system which contains as many "elemental entities" as there are atoms in 12 g of carbon-12." That's as much as i can remember, I suggest you google it for something more accurate.
  • 13.7 mol% of substance A means that 13.7% of the molecules are of substance A. The other 86.3% of the molecules are other molecules. Molecules are the smallest entities of a chemical substance. Break molecules apart, and you don't have that chemical substance anymore. There are 6x10^23 water molecules in 18 grams of water (that's a 6, followed by 23 zeroes).
