  • Sethyboy is wrong. Star notes are worth money. They were first used in 1910. The reason they make star notes is because if the original note becomes damaged during production they destroy it and print and exact duplicate with a star in lieu of the second letter of the serial number. The stars are so they can keep track of how many and which serial numbers have become damaged. Star notes are uncommon and, if in mint condition, are worth about $20 or so.
