I'm American and I don't make fun of Canadians. In fact I don't think I've ever heard someone make fun of Canadians. Actually, I really like Canada. I'm a huge fan of hockey and I've always wanted to go to Toronto to visit the Hockey Hall of Fame.

We're secretly jealous of their ability to leave the bathroom window cracked open when the temperature is well below zero (Celsius).

I'm guessing because Canada is as diverse as the US. People on the west coast make fun of the east coast. Northernerns make fun of Southerners. Everyone likes to make fun of a different group. The good thing is, it's good natured joking and not angry mean hostility.
