I used to watch Mr Belvedre all the time so maybe him, although I don`t remember much about it. I know he always wrote in his journal at the end of every episode.
-
Me too!

Alfred Pennyworth (Bruce Wayne's butler) was pretty cool. (The two I was thinking about when I clicked were already taken.)
-
Lurch (from the Addams Family)
-
Jeeves (Bertie Wooster's butler from the P. G. Wodehouse books)
-
Though I originally thought Alfred from Batman, I think Emelio from Mr. Deeds, the Adam Sandler movie, is the BEST!
-
I always wanted Mary Poppins! ;-) ... OH... SHE was a nanny... Well... Hazel always struck me as someone I could count on... Then again... I always wanted my own Jeanie!
-
Benson DuBois. He sure could piss Kraus off.
-
I'll take Daffney(sp) from Fraiser,
-
I vote for Alfred Pennyworth ... with Mary Poppins coming in a close second ...
-
My favorite is definitely Dafiney from Frasier! :D
-
It has to be the John Geilgud character in "Arther". Can't remember his name in the movie.
-
Mr. French from the old show Family Affair about the single dad and his kids Buffy, Jody and Judy.
-
Hannah Gruen from the old Nancy Drew books.
-
Definitely Benson from Soap and his own show. He didn't take no guff from nobody.
-
Since your question didn't limit the choice to television, I would say Arthur Treacher..he was the ultimate butler in many movies! :)
-
Blackadder. Ever brilliant.
-
If hotel servants can be included, my choice would be Manuel, the Spanish servant of Basil Fawlty: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=o8DngrgIpS0

This one's kind of obscure, but I love Jerry Lewis's butler in King of Comedy. He was this little old Chinese guy named "John-O", and he was totally freaking out the entire time he was in the movie.
-
Definitely Jeeves from the PG Wodehouse books featuring Bertie Wooster.
