I've got one for decor. It'd be kinda gross to use for cooking. I also have a mother-in-law who likes to give me weird appliances and she gave me a kitchen size wheat grinding mill. I haven't used it yet.
-
I have one, but I've only used it a couple of times for grinding spices together. Mostly it's just a decoration, it's very nice :)

Yes. I use it to grind up the cake so I can put it into dime bags. : D

I have one and I use it a few times a week. Different types of food. Mostly for cumin, grains of paradise, mustard seed and chilli flakes.

I have three. One made of copper and with a lot of intricate designs on it I have kept for show in the kitchen but I do use the other two,. I use it to coarsely crush pepper or other condiments.

I've got a little one that I use for spices or to crush salt with garlic for rubs. And it's still decorative:)

I have one (white marble). Use it for grinding herbs and spices for various curries - not so often now I'm a working mum, but used to use it a couple of times a week.

I don't have one but I wish I did. I use two spoons to crush vitamins that I add to my granola. If I don't crush them, they cause an upset stomach.

I use mine for grinding herbs and spices for rubs.
-
I have one, and I haven't used it once. =D

I use it for medicating horses are other animals that don't swallow pills readily.
-
No I don't have one but I wish I did. The medicine is the thing I would use it for the most.
-
You use it for exactly the same things I use it for. Do you add salt with your garlic for extra grinding power and it draws out garlic juice for more potency?
-
I had a mortar and pestle at one time. It took too much effort to use it to reduce whole garlic cloves to a paste, etc.
-
I own several. I have 1 that is green Italian marble that I use for traditional pesto. I have 3 molcajetes that are made of basalt and anthracite that I use for guacamole, salsas and other traditional Mexican foods.
-
I bought and used one before I lost everything. But now I use a coffee bean grinder its way faster and easier. In fact I have two. One for hot peppers, and another for herbs I don't want to taste like hot peppers.
-
I actually do own a small mortar and pestle, and I use them for mashing and grinding certain herbs and spices. Not very often, but I have a few recipes that call for this.
-
No, I thought they were used for fake magic stuff.
