Limewire is free. Limewire Pro is what you have to pay for. If you go to limewire.com you can download it there. If you go to a site and they want you to pay for it , you are getting scammed.

I would have to go with limewire too. to keep from ending up with something that sounds horrible or just not what it's supposed to be, i pause what i've been looking for half way thru, preview what's been done, and if everythings ok then i start it up again if it's wrong you won't have to waste time.

If you are a MAC user, get CABOS, a P2P programme very much like Limewire but with far better tools. It is free. You can also get it for PC, but the interface (as most things PC) is ugly and lacks the ease of use and several tools as in the MAC version. There is also ACQUISITON, the best P2P IMHO, but in order to have it fully functional, you gotta pay.
