not that ive actually done it, but ive heard if you go down to home depot and asked the guys in the lawn maintenance area they really know their stuff

I've heard that in the late Winter time when the ground is somewhat thawed and has no snow, as a result of a warmer day, spread the seedout and when the ground freezes back up, the seeds will work themselves into it a little.

5-30-2017 There are many steps. Buy a book and follow the instructions. Also a good plan: order sod at the handyman store and follow the instructions they give you.
