cold and stiff = DEAD = remove now Warm and soft= ALIVE = leave alone Soft and gooey= dead long time= scoop out with spoon

Males often kill the babies because the mother will not go into heat if she is nursing. Same with cats and some other animals also. Next time seperate them after you know the female is pregnant.

Why dont you get all of the information about breeding rabbits first before you let them breed? you can find all the information you need on the internet. I know that it might have happended by mistake but surley you would not have put a male and a female in with each other without knowing the could breed? Let the mum have some rest especially if she has had to put up with the buck irritating her all this time. She will become much happier once she is on her own, and perhaps she will be a better mother too. If you do mate her again, leave it a few months so that she can recover and when you mate them again only leave her in with the buck for 10 minutes no longer, as this is enought time for them to mate. If you leave her for a much longer period then they will get exhausted from the chasing, and this really is not necesary.

we knew they could mate. We just didn't know when they would start and all. Ignorance on our part! Now that we have done some research we are going to do this the right way. The only thing is, is that the two of them seem to get along real well. They spend alot of time cuddled together and he seems to protect her when we open the cage. The store (pet expo) had them caged together and recomended that if we were to buy two to buy those two. Not one of them and one from a different cage.

Remove all the babies. They are dead. And separate those rabbits. They should not be together. Do not place them together until they have been spayed and neutered. Rabbits can't live together because they are territorial and will fight, mate unexpectedly and can kill the young or each other. Plus the buck cold get her pregnant twice in a couple of weeks, meaning she could carry two litters at once which is very hard on her. Altered they will be better pets and live much longer lives.

we have deal with the same type of thing with them lying in nothing. she did sniff them but they were long gone. i would get the peerson that feeds and leans them out to go out and have a look at them and see if they are hard and stiff (dead) so you should remove them if your rabbit is not that sensitive, warm and soft(alive)so you should ust leave them where they are, but maybe place a nest box near the baby, about 30-40 cm away and then see if she moves them, or soggy and soft(dead for long time)and move them out with a spatula or spoon of some sort. I hope this helped you.

we had our male bunny, Smudge in the cage which we think brought the babies on. ours were 2 weeks delayed so she probably would have reabsorbed the litter which killed them.it sounds like the same thing happened to you or something of that sort. our female fell pregnant the same day and gave birth to another litter which were absolutely fine, so i would just keep an eye out for different littering patterns, different behaviour, eating alot more or alot less and somethings that just is a bit weird for your rabbit to be doing so i would just keep an eye open for these things. i hope this helped.

Had you read up on keeping rabbits and breeding you would not have had this trouble. You would have known that to keep the male and female together is dangerous for the very reason you now had 4 dead babies! Please get a book and read it before you attempt to mate them again, but before all that take the male and put him in his own cage and give the doe a suitable amount of time to get over this.

I'm sorry that this happened. This is why you should never keep any rabbits no matter what sex together, ever, unless they are spayed and neutered. The kits should have been born in a nest box filled with hay and shavings, placed in the cage with the doe on the 28th day and then she would have pulled her fur for them to keep warm and had them on the 31st day. They ae very susceptible to being chilled and also the bucks will often kill the little ones. Does don't ever stay with their kits. they only feed them 1-2 times a day so the kits need a nest to keep them together safe and warm. I'm afraid unless you wanted to hand feed them or hurry and change things around, they are dead and gone. Please separate your rabbits as he even could have already impregnated her. Rabbits can even be pregnant twice at the same time, carrying two litters. She needs rest and quiet.

if they aren't moving check if they are cold, if they are , sorry they're probably dead :( but the male won't kill them the girl might hurt the male though in an act of protection if they are alive get them lots and lots of bedding and encourage the mother to feed them if she won't then may have a lot of work on your hands but you can feed them with an eye dropper, but you may want to do some research on what kind of milk you should give them, some kind can be too much for their digestive system, best of luck.

If they are warm, make them a nest yourself and put them in AFTER you pet the mom[to get her scent on you] then once you have place them in the new nest place the mom by the nest so she knowswere they are, if they are cold remove them.

don't listen to these other ansers because they sound like they have hade never even owed a pet rabbit before and the male and female rabbit should not even be left together! because there are enought helpless rabbits in the word with out someone who does not know how to care for them! If what u want is more bunnies go to a rescue and buy rabbit that need a good home! sorry but if u value rabbits get them fixed!!! they will have many unwanted young that will need love and care! even if u sale them 74% of them will get crappy homes!!! the mom will not take care of them because u eather move her a new hutch or she is stessed because the male is in her hutch HELLO!!! take them to the vet or u will need to buy a rabbit pelt and a small box buy kitten forula milk NOT COWS BECAUSE IT WILL KILL THEM!!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME I HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE!! and put it in a quite room u will need a warm room though because they would die if theroom is to cold! BUT BEFORE U BO THIS TRY to put cotten in the rabbits nesting box and try o carfuly put the babies inside PLUS TAKE THE MALE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
