Usually ibuprofen, sometimes I take aspirin. For a bad one (and I used to have chronic migraine problem), sometimes drinking advil/asprin down with caffeine helps.

Excedrin and a glass of green tea. Both have caffein and combat the sypmtoms and causes of a typical headache/migrain. Tylenol and Advil don't help me at all.

Ibuprofen for run of the mill headaches. Aleve for the really bad ones.

I don't have headaches, but I have some muscle and joint pain on occasion. I take ibuprofin. It works great for me. Others may find other things work better for them. I think it is best to avoid the "prescriptions" if possible.

usually I have to go to the doctor for a narcotic based pain killer...I cannot take aspirin or acetominophen ..my liver is not up to dealing with those.

something french that my mom keeps giving me every time i have a headache, even when all i want is plain old american (or canadian?) advil :( .. oh and green tea, it's wonderful .. it helps for everything :)

Hi, Zack..I take Fosamax for osteoporosis problems and since I've been on it I've taken nothing for headaches because it is suggested that such over-the-counter drugs will dilute the effectiveness of the Fosamax. Fortunately, I get very few headaches and before the Fosamax I would take Aleve..it seemed to help the most, the fastest and the longest of any of the other choices. Happy Friday! :) ((hugs))

Three Advil's, before the full onset...works every time. Three Tylenol before before a night of drinking, prevents hangovers...works every time. for me at least.

The ONLY thing that works for my headaches - Excedrin Tension Headache! It usually takes about 6 of them over a 6 hour period, to knock out the MONSTER headaches that I get! Years ago they had a GREAT otc headache and body ache medicine called "Datril", which was fantastic! But, they quit making it, :/ !

Depends what caused the headache? Ibruprofen is a general best all rounder, it is safe painkiller with anit-inflam properties, so brill for the morning after ! "Hair of the dog" Otherwise go back to bed :-)

Before taking prescription or over the counter drugs, try some home remedies: My headache goes away after I drink a cup of black coffee with some fresh lemon juice. That usually does the trick :P

There is an Indian brand called saridon - thats the one I use because its very effective.

simple generic ibuprofen works in like 15-30 minutes for me. My wife buys that super freakin expensive tension headache crap and whenever i take it, my head is still pounding an hour or two later.

What I have found out that sex is the best pain reliever for a headache, but other wise tylenol works also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Usually ibuprofen but I'll take aspirin when it's really bad. Chamomile and green tea combined usually works on minor headaches, too, and is a nice herbal replacement for the drugs. >:)
