  • First of all, is your dog registered? What do you know about her pedigree and the bloodlines she is from? Is she certified for normal hips, eyes, etc? You do not have to buy a male to breed your female, you can take your female to be bred by a male who is advertised for stud, for a fee. Stud fees and arrangements vary with the quality of the male and the requirements of the owner. To select a male that will complement your female's qualities and improve her weaknesses though, you need to learn what her good and bad points are, and what good points and bad points dogs in her pedigree had or produced. Siberian Husky Club of America has informative articles about how to determine if your dog is of breeding quality and about genetic concerns in the breed and the problems you should be sure your dog doesn't have, things you need to know before you begin looking for a male to breed her to. You can also find knowledgeable breeders and stud owners through SHCA. Try to attend dog shows in your area, an excellent way to see top quality dogs and to meet and talk to knowledgeable handlers, owners, and breeders. http://www.shca.org/ Free pdf download of the UKC (United Kennel Club) Siberian Husky breed standard www.nicayasiberians.com/files/The_UKC_Siberian_Husky_Breed_Standard.pdf UKC main page, with links to breed information, etc http://www.ukcdogs.com/WebSite.nsf/WebPages/Home The more you study the breed, bloodlines, pedigrees, etc, the more you will develop your knowledge of what the characteristics of a high quality Siberian Husky are, and the better you will be able to evaluate your female and if she is of breeding quality, the better you will be able to select a mate for her that will be most likely to produce quality puppies!

  • I have been looking for a female for a little while now to breed with my Husky Chow Shepard 3 year old boy. He is a calm, great with kids and beautiful dog. Let me know what you think. I can send all kinds of pics...he is all white with green eyes.
  • I have a Male Siberian Husky that I am also trying to breed. He has been checked for any problems with hips and he's clear. His parents are gorgeous as well as him, I never got him registered just didn't take the time to do it, something I regret not doing when he was a puppy. He cannot be neutered due to him being allergic to anesthesia, so I figured breeding him wouldn't be a bad idea. If your still interested in breeding you can email me at shortie_gurl_05@hotmail.com.
