I have two favorite pens one is just four inches long but very fat. I love it! And my father taught me how to make a quill pen and use ink, and I love to do calligraphy this old fashioned way:-)

My writing sucks, so typing is the best, for me. However, if I have to write, I prefer a Bic or Papermate Medium Point (Blue or Black), or a .07mm HB mechanical pencil (with a "pen eraser" (see http://www04.quillcorp.com/Catalog/Browse/skuset.asp?PageType=2&SkuSetID=1056 )

I love thick, bold pens in a dark blue color. Right now I am writing with a Pilot Precise Grip.

Pencils because if you make a mistake theres always an eraser which on most pencils are right there.

I prefer an artist's castell pen to tell the truth. The ink tries quickly, it doesn't smear, it has very neat strokes, and is very nice for cursive.
