Your air conditioner can demand lots of power to function . If your alternator is faulty, then it may be unable to provide power to your ac, your distributor, lights, blowers, and other electrical components in your car. If your distributor, fuel injectors, and other sensors are not sufficiently powered, your engine will stall. Run your car on idle and put it in neutral. Then rev up the engine until it reaches 2500 rpm while someone measure the voltage reading across the battery terminals. If it is less than 13.5 volts then some diodes in your alternator may have blown. You should consider replacing your alternator. A new alternator from your local auto parts store can cost about $130.
