not really, i have not read the books or seen the movies but, J.K. Rowling wrote some pretty brilliant books. She is a great author

HIGHLY overrated, ive only read a few but its just too childish for me, no offense, but i just get more from stuff with more bite to it. its all too d&d for my taste, and as far as her breaking records with her book sales, that's fine, but i wont stand in line for KINg no way im doing it for her, i get a copy when i freakin get a copy, sorry thats just insane, get a life already with the all night book lines lololololol

well to a person who loves Harry Potter they wouldn't think so. I'm sure there is something your really into that someone else will think its over rated. So no I don't it entertains my brothers and keeps them quit so I can do my homework, no complaints here.

Nah, I happen to love the series, but the actor in the films does get way too breathy at times. I noticed the whiny voice at times, also. The books are better than the films. :)

He can't be THAT overrated. Apparently, he controls your awareness to such an extent that you're motivated to comment on him. Most people ignore things they have no use for.

Yes! The premise is far too predictable. The writing is fair, but failing to earn a decent FRACTION of the attention it has gotten. The difference between good fantasy and lame fantasy (Like, for instance, the difference btween Harry Potter and LOTR) is that good fantasy causes you to reflect on life in this world. Lame fantasy is merely a means of escaping from it.

No i dont the books are very well written and highlight many moral aspects that i think people lack! its a good book the films dont do the books justice!

Nah. I mean, he's overrated in the world of the books, but I think he's just a regular boy. People complained about him being moody in the later books, but I think that sort of comes with being stuck in a place you don't like for a long time (i.e. with his aunt and uncle).

I assume you're talking about the character, not the series. In that case, I do think Harry is overrated, though I wouldn't call him a ninny, because he does some brave things. But Hermione is the true hero because she knows how to perform lots of spells, while Harry's achievemtns are primarily based on luck.
