  • I am still young myself, and I have this happen to me quite often. He is most likely nervous about something and is having a hard time getting the courage to tell you. Don't think it is something bad right off the bat, but support him though it no matter what it is.
  • I used stop and grow nail stuff on one of my little ones, just below the lip, it tastes foul and after a few applications and tears they broke the habit, but if it's sore a light smear of vaseline before the stop and grow, works well when you want them to stop using pacifiers as well and as a joke around a "friends" beer glass rim :o)

Can you sit down with him and have a real heart-to-heart talk with him? You don't mention how old he is, but I trust you can. I hope this is of some help.
  • That's a bad habit I used to have as a little kid. I'd try putting a dab of nail polish remover under his lip, so it'd taste nasty. Or it could be a sign of developing anxiety.
