  • if thats the case then its your responsibility,but i'd see if the neighbours willing to go halves.
  • If it's a line fence then you share the responsibility. If it's on one side of the property line then who ever owns the fence owns the problem.
  • That property line is a very important issue. You need to find just where that property line is. MOST folks would put the smooth side away from their own house so that it would look nice to anyone driving by. But there are 'challenged' persons that would want to look at the smooth side and put it up backwards. Another thing to consider is WHO cares more about whether or not the fence gets fixed. You or them.
  • You should have received a survey map when you bought your house. It will show the property line, measuring distances from the foundation of the house. Plenty of fences are put up on the wrong side of the line because there was something in the way.

  • Who's fence is it? Whoever owns the fence is responsible.
