I study Irish, English and Spanish. I pick up languages quite easily because of my roots and have always been around people speaking different languages. My (biological) dad spoke Hindu, and my step-dad speaks Arabic. I've also been to Sri Lanka many times when young and India a few. Also Holland and France and Malta, so really i'm used to them and pick them up as i go along. That's why i got an 'A' in my Higher Level Spanish in my Junior Cert results!!!!!

I studied the languages of Electronis and Machinists in school. I learned words like Ohm, Watt, Ampere, Impedence, Induction and Center Drill, Pilot Hole, Counterbore, Leadscrew, Crossfeed and Ball Endmill. Well, everyone studies English. So I'm not counting that. In middle school we had a really brief introduction to languages. You learn a few words and like...numbers 1-20 in a bunch of languages. French & Spanish mostly tho. We also did a little on hieroglyphics and greek. But nothing went into depth. In high school, I'm on my third year of Russian.

I studied French in grade school, and Spanish in high school. I never became conversational in either. Which, considering I work with several people who speak Spanish, you'd think I'd pick some of it back up. Can't teach old dogs new tricks? Does pig Latin count? And I've always been fascinated by dialects as well with my family being from New England, the South, and having grown up in the Midwest. oh well...
