Not harsh enough. What is wrong with people?
-
Absoloutley. The bottom line is that using a phone whilst driving causes accidents. Here in the UK if you are caught using your mobile phone whilst driving you are fined and you will get 3 points on your driving licence. If you are unlucky enough to get 12 points on your licence then you lose it and you will be unable to drive.

Yeah, a fat fine.
-
i agree, off with their hands!!!
-
Yes, what is the difference any way, I have made an accident like this and it cost me a hell of a lot money!
-
Should be. First rule of driving, keep your eyes on the road. Talking on a non-hands free phone should also suffer punishment.

I just heard about an 80 year old woman who had the misfortune to be walking where a cell-phoner was driving... in hospital with virtually every bone in her body broken. Relative of Dennis Prager's, in fact.

They should have their license taken away for a week...first offense.
-

-
Instant ban, the stupidity and arrogance of these selfish people (potential killers) astounds me.

There should be. Texting while driving is one of the most selfish things one could do. It makes me so angry to think that people are doing it. DO they not realize what could happen?!?! I think it should be jail time, and they should have to get the word out about the dangers of texting and driving, like talking at schools and anything else they can come up with..
-
Big fines in most states besides, it is very dangerous to text while driving.
