Isn't it vienna,bratislava, and budapest? I have the same exact question on my hw!

The danube flows through Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, and Belgrade, in this order. Perhaps the person who posed the question has confused Europe with the European Union (EU). Belgrade is the capital of Serbia, a European state which does not (yet?) belong to the EU. The Danube also flows through other capitals -- capital cities of provinces, not of states. For example, the Danube flows through Linz, the capital of the Austrian province of Upper Austria. The Danube also flows through Novi Sad, the capital of the Serbian province of Vojvodina.
