  • Actually, I'm thinking yes. I know for sure that you cannot leave the state, or leave the country, for the sole purposes to have sex with someone that is their age of consent. Did I make any sense?
  • that is a crime because a person is expected to know and follow the rules of whatever state they are in. Sounds unfair... but thats just how it is.
  • According to the law, no a crime was not commited. As long as the NY resident was in Jersey at the time. If it was in NY however, I that would be a crime cause according to that state she's under the age of consent. And btw this was a good topic to post. I don't think many of people know about the consent laws in their states. This question made me even look it up to verify the information before posting (I live in NJ).
