  • With Putin going nuts they have to protect themselves! Its a sad situation. They have been neutral for 77 years. This is what happens when America doesn't stay strong. Putin knows Biden is a putz!

Hasn't America learned its lesson from Afghanistan and Vietnam? Sending in the Marines isn't always a good idea. You are assuming Putin will cow-down to Biden. But he's not that kind of guy. Putin thinks he's defending Russian territory. And look at the Taliban. They continued to fight for decades after America supposedly won.

You assume what I didn't say. We shouldn't have to put boots on the ground we have bugs and drones.
  • Yes. They are both peaceful, democratic nations, both technologically advanced nations, and both not needy nations, so (1) their joining will benefit NATO financially and strategically (2) NATO will benefit them by providing the very powerful deterrent of an alliance that has much greater military power than do those individual nations
  • What you're looking at is a buildup of military power against Russia. This is the very thing the Western Allies (including the Soviet Union) did against Germany prior to WW2. Everyone targeted Germany because Germany was re-arming itself - this was the reason why. The West was building alliances and increasing its forces to oppose Germany while Germany was supposed to sit and do nothing to protect itself according to the rules of the Versailles Treaty. Now you have history repeating itself - NATO is increasing its military power to oppose Russia. You people blame Putin for attacking Ukraine even though it's well known that a NATO-supported Ukraine would have put Western forces directly on Russia's border. Putin was concerned about security and wanted a buffer zone between NATO forces and Russia. This is what he wanted the Donbas region for. But, because he was Putin, he was automatically deemed the bad guy. If the West had left Germany alone in 1933, there wouldn't have been a WW2. Now leave Russia alone - it can only end in another war - again, started by the West.

That's bull. Ukraine had given up its weapons in a treaty so Putin attacked. And made a failure out of it, too. Now he will be seen as weaker than ever.
  • Yes it is a good idea. Nobody thought Putin would invade Ukraine. They thought he would stick to his own borders. They were wrong.
  • Not too sure about it
