pamela, but the technology of the past was not as advanced as it is today. *Facepalm*
  • Even in the 1st century, the apostles and their disciples thought His return was imminent. We have been watching for signs and portents for 2000 years. We see so many things happening due to enhanced communication technology that makes us think He is coming back any day now. He will return when the Father says it's time. Not a minute before.

  • To be honest a lot of people have said it is what it is and what it will be, but if you look at what Jesus in the Bible at Mathew Chapter 24 said, He gives a composite sign of conditions on the earth when the last days occur. So are we living in those last days? I feel that we are, then the question is what do we need to do to be saved? at John 17:3 the Bible says "this means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ". So then, that leads to another question, how do we come to know God? May I suggest starting with Gods personnel name found at Psalms 83:18 which says KJV "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth". Yes it is worth getting to know Jehovah and the wonderful purpose he has planned for the earth and for all mankind at Psalms 37; 10,11 and 29 shows the wicked will be done away with and the righteous will live on the earth forever and this is backed by so many more scriptures for example of one Revelation 21;4 says "And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, the former things have passed away." The letter "J" was not added to the alphabet until about 500 years ago. Before that it was YHVH or Yahweh.
  • The signs are apparent in false christ's who have found themselves in history, deceitful teachings with more than 45,000 Christian denominations in the world, biological wars, food shortages, the rebuilding of the Third Temple in Jerusalem that is very soon to happen, rumors of wars and with the latest of China prepared to invade Taiwan and Russia bombing Ukraine and so on.

You are welcome, and thumbs up once again for asking an interesting question.
  • Ephesians 3 reveals that we presently live in the Age of Grace. Despite this, II Timothy 3 informs us that we are also in the Perilous Times of The Last Days. Following the Age of Grace will be The Day of Christ, commonly called the Second Coming. Philippians 1:10 "That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;" Philippians 2:16 "Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain." II Thessalonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. It is impossible to know or estimate (by signs, calendars, CNN, etc.) when The Day of Christ will begin, as God is keeping it a secret. We only know that it will commence with the shout of the Archangel Gabriel. I Thessalonians 4:16,17 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." The events of the end times recorded in Matthew, Luke, and Daniel will only occur after our gathering together with Christ, noted in II Thessalonians 2:1. • According to Matthew, chapter 24, Jesus told His disciples that He would return before the last of them died. Several passages in the New Testament indirectly reference this: Hebrews 1:1-2, Hebrews 10:24-25, I Corinthians 10:11, I John 2:18, I Peter 4:7, I Thessalonians 4:15-17, James 5:8-9 etc. all strongly indicate that the first generation of Christians will be the ones to witness the second coming. The Jehovah's Witnesses arbitrarily recalculated this date over and over , but no one from the generation of the majority of their predictions is even still alive today. So what's going on? At the very least, there is a flaw in the prophesy. I know pointing that out will get someone all fired up, but between "the Bible is the literal truth" and "Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."
  • Don't hold your breath waiting Ive been hearing this my entire life. Religious nuts will allways find signs of a 2nd coming one told me years ago when Tel Aviv was bombed the 2nd coming was near that was 27 years ago .. Wake up its a big con so you will give your money to the church you'll still be waiting for the 2nd coming on your death bed.
  • People have been saying that for over 2000 years!
