  • "Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in Canada, the United States, some of the Caribbean islands, and Liberia. It began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Similarly named festival holidays occur in Germany and Japan." For my family it usually involves a gathering of family and friends and involves turkey and dressing/ stuffing or ham (sometimes dressed with pineapple, cherries, cloves) cranberries/cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes green bean casserole, mashed potatoes n gravy, some sort of bread (cornbread, dinner rolls, croissant) pumpkin and/ or pecan pie. And an American football game usually one or more on tv and a 'touch' football game with family. Thanksgiving Day in the United States is on the fourth Thursday of November which falls on the 23rd this year. Happy Thanksgiving y'all

      Thank you !
  • In the US, Thanksgiving Day is observed on the last Thursday in November. There are other countries that celebrate Thanksgiving. Canada, Germany and Japan to name some. I see it as a day to have a day off from work, gathering with my family, giving thanks for perceived blessings and having turkey on the menu. 🦃
