What have you done?
-

Jenny The Great ⭐He or she insulted the President. I know people do it all the time. What some Answerbaggers do not understand, there are rules on this site which deals with name-calling, leading to insults.

A lot of us have been in the PB. If you've received a notification from Answerbag saying, "Hold on there slugger," that means you have verbally been throwing hard punches at other members.

But I didn't say anything offensive-I merely said trump appears to be an id**t to other countries -
Glambarber
That doesn't sound like a penalty boxable offense. Are you sure that's all there is? -
Count456
I probably used the word "fool" Is it offensive? -
Jenny The Great ⭐
Count456, quote: "I merely said trump appears to be an id**t to other countries" There are Trump supporters on Answerbag who found your remarks offensive. Calling him a fool as well can also stir up his supporters. -
Jenny The Great ⭐
Glambarber, who made you the expert??? I'm the expert here, because I know the Answerbag rules, and I also know the word "idiot" is an insult. Rule #7 to keep Answerbag safe: "You will not post content that: [is hate speech], threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence." http://www.answerbag.com/termsofservice -

Not to condone name-calling, but I don't see an objective connection between the use of the term, even if it is directed toward a specific public figure, and the ToS you quoted. -
Jenny The Great ⭐
bostjan64, you can contact Answerbag and tell them how you feel. I don't see why everybody wants to come to me LOL, since I am only going by the rules. So you can't go around and call other AB members idiots or fools. You also can't call the President the same insultive words, because Trump supporters will flag your posts. Then it's up to Answerbag to decide who should be put in the PB. -
Glambarber
Jenny, I was just going by what's conventionally acceptable. Words like "idiot" and "fool" are minor insults but they are hardly offensive enough to warrant any sort of penalty. I've seen far worse insults supposedly said in "humour" that aren't remotely funny and really ought to be penalised. It's just a case of getting their priorities right. -
Jenny The Great ⭐
Glambarber, quote: "Words like "idiot" and "fool" are minor insults" Answerbag does not tolerate any type of insults when reported by other members. You wouldn't appreciate if someone called you an idiot or a fool. If you do, then you have no respect for yourself. Whether you care or not, other members do care about hostile behavior. -
Glambarber
Yet it does appear to tolerate people insulting each other in "fun", despite the fact that a lot of people don't find it funny. Where do they draw the line? -
Jenny The Great ⭐
Glambarber, it just "appears" to be the case as you say, although to be on the safe side, no one can draw the line if the Answerbag administration finds what we call fun, offensive. -
Jenny The Great ⭐
Linda Joy, I am an expert, and as you see, 3 AB members came to me on this thread. Obviously, I know more than a thing or two.

They have a penalty box here?
-
-
Jenny The Great ⭐
Of course. Just as other sites will suspend or delete your account when you break the rules: what did you expect on Answerbag? No holds barred posts and disputes? -
Glambarber
Do they suspend people for things they haven't done because they believe someone else's vindictive lies? Is it that type of site? -
Jenny The Great ⭐
The Answerbag administration does read questions, answers and comments when they are brought to their attention. They decide who should be suspended. The best thing to do is go by the rules if you plan to be a longtime member. -
Linda Joy
glambarber is sounding suspiciously like Bootsiebaby now. Hmm... -
Jenny The Great ⭐
Linda Joy, big deal if it's Bootsiebaby as you claim. -
Urban Spaceman
@Jenny The Great@: Please take no notice of Linda Joy. She is a spiteful troll with personal grudges against certain members here, I have seen her post similar comments laced with insinuation before and I had to intervene in the comment thread. As it happens I know Bootsiebaby and Glambarber in real life, they live in the same area as me and I can assure you they are not the same person. However, there is one connection between them. Glambarber's husband is Bootsiebaby's nephew, and that's a fact. I could give you more information about both of them, but that should be enough to be going on with. If anybody should be in the penalty box it's Linda Joy. As far as I can see she is a troublemaker. -
Jenny The Great ⭐
Urban Spaceman, I pay no attention to Linda Joy. Heck, I don't even answer her questions. She is a very hostile person with people who do not agree with her. To say this on 10/24/2024, she is rarely active on this site, which is a good thing for the users who do not get along with her.

Scroll down and click the Terms of Use. Then click the yellow flag. These are reasons you may be put in the penalty box. And sometimes it depends on what the users at the time find offensive and actually report. But in the end its the AB staff that decide what gets deleted and who gets put in the PB. Also if you have a question for staff I've had better luck putting it in the Answerbag Staff category. I don't think they've ever answered me, except when it was a mistake, but they usually tend to the issue without answering. But this is just my experience. And contrary to some opinion I AM NOT A MEMBER OF ANSWERBAG STAFF. The only staff member I know of is Admin Dan.

Isn't it against the terms of use to post false or misleading information about other users? I'm sure it is.

Have you asked the admin? I didn't trust the admin on the old Answerbag site, but I don't know the current admin well enough to make judgements.
