A Christian is a follower of Christ. Christ was baptized, so it might be advised as a positive symbol, but I don't see in the Bible where it is said to be required.

Baptism is mentioned a number of times in the bible, in Ezekiel 36:25 "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them." And the following verses https://dailyverses.net/baptism This may help decide whether a Christian should or shouldn't.

You need to be baptized with the Holy Ghost (born again) to go to heaven.. Water baptism is a picture of the death , burial, and resurrection you have had with Christ when you were born again.
-
Jesus answered this... (Matthew 28:19, 20) Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

pugwashjw65Jesus got baptized as an example of personal commitment and NOT as a means to qualify himself to teach...He was already perfect as Jehovah's son and stressed in the scriptures that he always obeyed his father in heaven, Jehovah.

TexasescimoJehovah is the hearer of prayer. Jesus prays to God. (Psalm 17:1) Hear my plea for justice, O Jehovah; Pay attention to my cry for help; Listen to my prayer spoken without deceit. (Psalms 64:10-65:2) The righteous one will rejoice in Jehovah and take refuge in him; All the upright in heart will exult. To the director. A melody of David. A song. 65?Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion; We will pay our vows to you. 2?O Hearer of prayer, to you people of all sorts will come. (Matthew 26:39) And going a little way forward, he fell facedown, praying: My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will. (John 17:1-3) Jesus spoke these things, and raising his eyes to heaven, he said: Father, the hour has come. Glorify your son so that your son may glorify you, 2?just as you have given him authority over all flesh, so that he may give everlasting life to all those whom you have given to him. 3?This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

TexasescimoJehovah is the most high God, while Jesus is the son of the most high God. (Genesis 14:22) At this A′bram said to the king of Sod′om: ?I do lift up my hand [in an oath] to Jehovah the Most High God, Producer of heaven and earth, (Psalm 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth. (Luke 1:32) This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father, (Mark 5:7) and, when he had cried out with a loud voice, he said: ?What have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I put you under oath by God not to torment me.? (Luke 8:28) At the sight of Jesus he cried aloud and fell down before him, and with a loud voice he said: ?What have I to do with you, Jesus Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.?

TexasescimoJehovah is Father of Jesus, Jesus is son (Psalm 2:7) Let me refer to the decree of Jehovah; He has said to me: You are my son; I, today, I have become your father. (Hebrews 5:5) So too the Christ did not glorify himself by becoming a high priest, but [was glorified by him] who spoke with reference to him: You are my son; I, today, I have become your father. (Matthew 3:17) Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved. (Malachi 2:8-10) But YOU men, YOU have turned aside from the way. YOU have caused many to stumble in the law. YOU have ruined the covenant of Le?vi, Jehovah of armies has said. 9 And I also, for my part, shall certainly make YOU to be despised and low to all the people, according as YOU were not keeping my ways, but were showing partiality in the law. 10 Is it not one father that all of us have Is it not one God that has created us? Why is it that we deal treacherously with one another, in profaning the covenant of our forefathers?

TexasescimoJehovah is God, Jesus sits at God's right hand. Ps. 110:1: The utterance of Jehovah to my [David's] Lord is: Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet. (At Matthew 22:41-45, Jesus explained that he himself was David's Lord, referred to in this psalm. So Jesus is not Jehovah but is the one to whom Jehovah's words were here directed.) Jesus is at God's right hand. (1 Peter 3:22) He is at God's right hand, for he went his way to heaven; and angels and authorities and powers were made subject to him. (Acts 2:33) Therefore because he was exalted to the right hand of God and received the promised holy spirit from the Father, he has poured out this which YOU see and hear. (Romans 8:34) Who is he that will condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died, yes, rather the one who was raised up from the dead, who is on the right hand of God, who also pleads for us. (Psalm 110:1) The utterance of Jehovah to my Lord is: Sit at my right hand Until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet. (Matthew 20:23) He said to them: YOU will indeed drink my cup, but this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father. (Ephesians 1:17-20) that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give YOU a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the accurate knowledge of him; 18 the eyes of YOUR heart having been enlightened, that YOU may know what is the hope to which he called YOU, what the glorious riches are which he holds as an inheritance for the holy ones, 19 and what the surpassing greatness of his power is toward us believers. It is according to the operation of the mightiness of his strength, 20 with which he has operated in the case of the Christ when he raised him up from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,

Christianity is about Christ. It is the faith tradition that focuses on the figure of Jesus Christ.
-
Jesus was created PERFECT...and as a man sent to our earth he remained PERFECT.' Yet even he got himself baptized by John... As our exemplar SO SHOULD WE.
-
Yes. Christianity is about faith, as all religions are. If you believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ, the fundamentals of it, you're fine. You don't have to do everything he did in order to be a christian, let alone a good one. You can pray out in your backyard if you so choose, it doesn't need to be in a church. The church is the one who pushes that idea and many other self-serving ideas. Your faith is your own.

No, by definition a Christian imitates Christ’s actions and obeys Christ’s commandments (Acts 11:26). The perfect son of God was baptized, why would his imperfect followers not do the same? To become associated with ANY group or organization, you must meet their requirements.
-
you need to ask god about it

You can't trust Christians. It is somewhat rare for a Christian to know the first thing about what he claims to believe. You only get straight doctrines by reading the bible, setting aside all the churchy bullsnot you have heard from religious people. For instance, "baptize" means "dip". It does not mean "dip in water", the dipping can be done in anything. The bible says in Acts 1:5 "John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence." People who teach water baptism will omit the "but" because it conflicts with what they prefer to believe. Read a chapter of Proverbs every day. Proverbs has 31 chapters so you can keep your place by just looking at a calendar. There is no religion or nothing in Proverbs and you don't have to believe anything. Just read to find wisdom. When you are comfortable with that, then read the bible from Romans to 2 Thessalonians over and over until you start to remember what it says. That is the part that applies to Christians.

"Being a Christian" is a label and only significant to one's concern of how people choose to label that individual and nothing more. Your friends and acquaintances will usually call you a Christian if you say you are one. The church has a vested interest in recruiting you so they will not recognize you as a Christian unless you follow their rules (as if you were obeying God).

The Bible clearly teaches that if you want to serve God, you should get baptized. Jesus told his followers: “Make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them.” Matt 28:19) Jesus also set the example by getting baptized himself. He was completely immersed in water, not just sprinkled with water on his head. Matt 3:16 Today when a Christian is baptized, he must also be completely immersed, or dipped, in water.. Baptism is a requirement for Christians, and it is an essential step to gaining salvation. Your baptism symbolizes your dedication. It is a solemn promise that you made to God to love him and to put his will above everything else.

If there is some reason why you cannot be water baptized God can overlook you not being water baptized until you have a chance to be water baptized that's the very first thing that Jesus Christ showed was the beginning of Christianity. The whole word Christianity means to do what Jesus Christ did. We Christians do not make excuses why we cannot obey Jesus Christ if there's a genuine reason why we cannot obey Jesus Christ at the moment due to no water or because we're locked up in jail or some other very valid thing then when you get out you find some place that's full of water and say hey fellow Christian dunk me in the water and you rise up calling upon the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins that's what the Bible says it says be baptized in the water and rise up calling upon the name of Jesus Christ.
