  • Yep sure do.
  • No! I don't like green bell peppers at all! Besides, compared to green bell peppers, the red ones have almost 11 times more beta-carotene and 1.5 times more vitamin C. Half of your plate should be nonstarchy vegetables. 1/4 starchy vegetables or grains (are you putting rice in the stuffed peppers?) 1/4 meat plus a dairy and a fruit. Botanically speaking the bell pepper is a fruit, but is counted as a nonstarchy vegetable on the plate. This goes for tomatoes, too. But the more starchy (botanically fruits) like winter squash are counted as starchy veggies. You didn't say if cheese is involved in these stuffed green peppers.

I just clicked "thumbs up" but nothing appeared. You sound like you know a lot about nutrition. I think I need to take more classes after I graduate. There are so many more things I want to learn and nutrition is one of them.

No worries Percussion its showed up, and while I no longer get notifications on who is liking my answers, I'm pretty sure Twink wasn't the one who liked it. From what I've seen I'm not sure she knows how to use the thumbs up button. I just came from the dietician before answering this question so the healthy plate was fresh on my mind. I looked up the nutrition information because I don't like green bell peppers. What I found was news to me, but thought I'd share it. I've never taken a class in nutrition. When do you graduate?

Twink, I've tried making onion rings, it didn't turn out well! lol But I quit eating deep fried foods a long time ago.
