  • 5-13-2017 I've heard the name, but I had no clue what it was about.
  • It is a group (the band) called Blondie and it is Debbie Harry who sings. One of the songs she recorded is The Tide Is High.

and heart of glass and call me and rapture... all wonderful classics.. :)
  • I would say the name highlights the singer. And when I say I saw Blondie open for Alice Cooper in 1978, I think of Blondie as Debbie Harry's band. (Although Bare Naked Ladies doesn't seem to have either of these in their band)
  • It has been a few years since I saw her and the band on TV. I have seen it more recently at YouTube.

I'll say she was a hit when she opened for Alice Cooper. Not immediately but she warmed us up pretty fast. Very creative and fun.
  • Hey Mr Floppy, I had an 8 track player years ago in my old car that was a 1962 Chevy 2 back on the 80's and was listening to the 8 track tape while driving. My favorite was That Tide Is High back then.
  • Oh BTW I have the CD now.
