I also could have said "What's a murga?" So you could go "Nothing. What's a murga with you?"

A search reveals that "heavens to murgatroyd" is a phrase created for the Snagellpuss cartoon in the 60's. But there IS such a thing as a murga, and there is more than one definition! To quote Johnny Carson "I did not know that!"

Oh lol. See the picture? Is THAT what you have a row of on a shelf on your wall?
    • Murgatroyd
I got the name from an old TV programme called "Magpie" which was on during my junior school years. The magpie mascot on the programme was called Murgatroyd, and the theme tune was credited to the Murgatroyd Band (actually the Spencer Davis Group under an assumed name). I always liked the sound of the name Murgatroyd, so I decided to use it as an online pseudonym. Yes, I have heard of the expression "Heavens to Murgatroyd" and I like that as well. Lol:)

It is also an anagram of "Mr. Yoga Turd".......
  • What is a murga?

When two entities come together to form one.....

That's a merger. The "g" in that is pronounced like a "j". I imagine the "g" in "murga" would be a hard guttural "g" (as in "go").
