      Apart from the example in my comment on Black Mystique's answer, how about those reference books that copy each other's errors? One of the early examples of that was in two reference books that both listed the release number of Jackie Lee's hit single "White Horses" as BF 1674 instead of the correct BF 1647. One of those books repeated that particular error in updated editions for several years. What I never understood was why they didn't look at the label of their own copies of that record, then they would have seen for themselves it was BF 1647 and not BF 1674. It really is that simple.
