Yes, I believe our principal knew almost all student names. That's pretty good for a school of 1600+ students! He would at least know your name by your senior year.
-
Yes, we knew each other quite well. I spent a lot of time in his office.
-
Yes. My HS has a roster of about 75 students and about 20% never showed up every day. I went to a SMALL HS.
-
Yep - only cause I was student council president for two years.
-
Yes, but only in my last year when I got into an argument with a local politician and she tried to warn me off 'for the sake of the school's reputation'.

I was anonymous till I got into Oxford Uni and brought the local press and photographers round, then she wanted to know me alright!

She learnt all out names before taking over the school! It was real strange, she started in my 4th year (14-15yo) and I had never been in any school photo's yet the first time she saw me she said "Hello Kevin" I will never forget that!
-
Yes, but it's because he lived in my neighborhood and I was good friends with his son. Otherwise, I think I would have blended in with the other 2500 students at our HS.
-
Yeah, but only because of my Dads checkbook.
-
Oh yeah, really well
-
umm i dont remember .
-
nope

of course!! and the vice principal...he was my homie

Yep. I knew Wright really well. He helped me win the Battle of the Dress Out at Gym. The vice principal, Petro, called me Princess (I don't think he could remember my name.) But the best were the JROTC instructors. I covered JROTC for the school newspaper, so while everyone not in ROTC pretty much feared First Sergeant Cain and Colonel Toronto (they were very intimidating), I called them Teddy Bears. Genuinely nice guys, both of 'em.
