  • nope. Vespers is a prayer service. But, even if you go to Mass, you don't "have" to take communion. Even though Catholics are required to attend Mass every week, they are only REQUIRED to take communion once a year - which implies for most that you will also need to go to confession once a year. A guest is never required to take communion - in fact, unless you're a Catholic (in good standing - appropriately confessed), you're generally not welcome to partake in communion.
