  • Sorry to hear about your loss. Having a miscarriage at 6 weeks is more common than people think but it doesn't make it any easier. I had a miscarriage last year when I was 11 weeks pregnant. I had an ERPC (what used to be called a D&C afterwards and was given a leaflet which said that it was advisable to wait for 3 months before trying to get pregnant again. In my case I wasn't trying to get pregnant in the first place - it was a complete shock. If you are trying to get pregnant, I'd advise you to take your time to allow your body, your emotions and your periods to all return to normal. There is nothing to stop you taking folic acid in the meantime so, when you are ready to try again, your body has good levels of it.
