I go "okay, what's new?"
-
It depends on how bad the news is. Sometimes I shut down and other times my mentality is, "life goes on".
-
depending on how bad it is, i might freeze up.
-
Slowly... My initial reaction is composed. But when it sinks in....well, that's a different story.
-
Not well. Sometimes I feel like I've fallen into pieces.

-
Not well and I find a way to blame it on myself.
-
I believe that God has a purpose for all events that occur in my life, whether they be good or bad.

i ring my cousin or i go tell my mum bout it then i dwell on it before i sleep at night and when i wakeup. I talk about it with the person m closest to on n emotional level.
-
Depends. Some bad news, with sorrow. Others, with anger. But always, with hope.
-
I usually overreact, then put it into perspective later, or alternatively I will just freeze up. depends on the severity.

The same way I handle good news, with apathy.
-
lay it to me straight and i'll give you my reaction
-
w a drink and maybe a smoke of something, or both.
-
Really bad personal news? I get into bed with my pacifier and stuffed animal babies where I cry and contemplate suicide.
-
Quietly!
-
I bombard the giver with questions, or I'm very quiet. It depends on what the news is.
-
Pretty calmly. No matter what is going on freaking out about the situation isn't going to make it easier to deal with so I just keep a level head and do what I need to do.
-
I find screaming temper tantrums can be helpful.
-
pray,pray,pray
-
I shoot the bearer of bad news !
-
I usually have no reaction when getting bad news since I've gotten so much of it lately. At the most, I might pause for a second or two, but that's it.
-
try my best to not overact.
-
As well as I can.
-
With a very, very long handle. Centre myself and deal with it as pragmatically as I can. (Not always successful though).
-
I take it in slowly so that I don't overreact. I immediately say a prayer for God to have His way over the situation. I believe sometimes when we hear bad news we react as if things won't change, but good things will often times come from bad situations. It's not always the situation itself that's so bad, but it's how we look at the situation that makes it bad.
-
Depending on how bad it is, it can affect me but I have to accept it like when my grandmother died in 1996. She had been a smoker since she was a teenager and it finally got her. That was hard to take at the time. When I heard that my brother and his wife were splitting earlier this year, I was more prepared for that news as it was going to happen sooner or later. She said to me a few years ago at a party, I think I married the wrong brother, man did I ever dodge a bullet.
-
badly.
-
I am a calm person by nature. So I just take it as it comes. Not that I don't get upset or mad. But for the most part I try to not let it get to me. +5 Polly Math!

Like something weighted down with rocks, put in river - the operative word being sink. Alone that is, otherwise gulp and hold it in till I can let rip in an appropriate manner. One that is appropriate to me +5
