I've only read Carrie, but that book by itself is very eerie. It goes much more in depth than the film and is told by many different points of view, so you get the full effect of what was going on during the events, rather than just focusing on Carrie being tortured and lashing back.

I'd have to say Misery, as it includes nothing supernatural, and even though it may be far fetched, the suspense makes me change my underwear. And it's prolly not that exaggerated anyways... Another good one is Pet Semetary, and while it includes paranormal content, the concept which supports it is very real.

i thought bag of bones was sort of creepy when i read it in middle school.

Salem's Lot I read it only at night and had a few nightmares.

The Stand was pretty cool. And scary. It kept my interest through every chapter.

none of them....I read 'Under the Dome' and it was like reading something a first year composition student would write..terrible writer......ugh!
