What does it mean when a girl you've dated in the past asks if you are still love her? She is now deeply involved with another, even happily got her lovers name tattoed on her & vice versa. I accept I can only be her friend, I don't understand.

I am guessing, while she may be happy, she maybe has been thinking about her past and wonders if you could have been the one who got away. I think it's normal, but if you have no problem being her friend, tell her that, and leave it there. If she eventually leaves her current s/o and you are both in the right place it'll work out.
