There is a great song of that era sung by Country Joe and The Fish [performed at the epic WOODSTOCK Festival in Upper State NY,in 1969] called:"Fixin' To Die Rag" which neatly satirises and encapsulates the whole shenanigan of America sending its best young fighting men to join a terrifying offensive in a far-flung Asian country. 55,000 of them never returned over the whole 12-year span of the Vietnam War--which was a terrible waste of good young life.
