Not if you make 100k a year but fore most people that is way too much.
-
If that fits in someone's budget ... no.
-
providing she isn't ever going to be able to afford to be married than no..
-
The term 'More money than sense' Springs to mind for anybody spending that much on a small piece of metal and stone..
-
if some one giving ok
-
Only the test of time can answer 100 percent.
-
if u can afford it then it's ok
-
Not if you're Donald Trump.
-
It would be too much for 10 engagement rings :)
-
Sounds "reasonable" to me if it's within the "giver's" ability to do so!
-
Yeah, I think it's too much. I couldn't carry $30,000 around on my finger, I'd wrap my hand in bubble wrap to keep it safe. I couldn't handle someone giving me a ring worth that much. A few hundred is my limit.
-
its all relative to your financial situation.
-
Yes! That's more than enough for 10 engagement rings.
-
It depends on how much money is being made by the lucky man. If he has the money to blow on it, then no, its not too much. However, if he has saved for several years to getthat ring, I think the money would be better spent on a down payment for a house to pay off your bills. It all depends on how much money you make and how much you have in the bank. :) Do you have a link of this ring? I would love to see it!
-
It depends on your cash flow. For me it would not be appropriate.
-
That really depends on how much money you or your spouse makes. Its quite a bit for just a engagement ring in my books, although i would spend this or more on a wedding ring.
-
Depends if you cheated or not =P
-
The real question here is when is enough enough? Excess and greed are rampant in this world, so I would say that most engagement rings are too much, considering they are meant merely to be tokens for something far greater - a sign of commitment between two people, meant to last their lifetimes. Now, that is where the resources should be spent, on making sure that that commitment is reached throughout the years of their married life, not on the symbol that represents the commitment. Like a nice home, furniture and basic necessities of life, including education to further each member of the union, or money to raise a family in their home. Whatever they choose to do with the money they saved on an overpriced hunk of metal with a stone set in it...
-
That would be pocket change for Donald Trump, who spent $2 million for his engagement ring for Slovenian model Melania Knauss. http://thelongestlistofthelongeststuffatthelongestdomainnameatlonglast.com/expensive37.html
-
Yes, and why do women want such expensive rings anyway? Waste of oney.....spend that on a down payment for a house the TWO of you can benefit from, or an amazing honeymoon you BOTH can benefit from . So selfish to want a ring for that amount of money
-
some weddings don t cost this much
-
I would say yes, however I used a family heirloom to engage to my wife. So I guess I am just a cheap pos. :)
-
About $29,000 too much Kool!
-
If I am paying for it, yes. Come to think of it, that is a mistake I probably will not make again, so definitely yes.
-
To me, yes.
-
thirty grand isnt much for a nice diamond or a cluster. whats the value of a carat these days...ten grand?
-
If you want to state your wealth, then no... If you want to state your love, yes, money is no substitute
-
I would say anything ovet 10,000 is too pricy for a stone on your finger.
-
better be engaging in something every night for that price.
-
if the person has the money then no it is not. if someone cannot really afford this amount than it is wrong.
-
Um, no duh!!!Especially they could send it my way and help me pay some stuff off!!!Fork it over, lol.
-
HELL YES! rich or not! you could get a ring just as pretty with a fraction of the cost.....why dont they spend thier money on somthing useful like a charity or somthing?????
-
That is damn cheap... I am not talking about the ring.. I am talking about the thought of having an engagement ring worth 30grand... Asking for something that is not a basic necessity is a sin.. Give it to people who are dying in hunger they will live happily for few months and the satisfcation is more worth than having a rock.
-
Must be very beautiful......very.
-
Much too much. I just make do with a Cheezel.
-
Not if you are a billionaire.
-
well i would just love to have a 30k engagement ring! but it is a little ostentatious and not really practical for everyday wear and use.
-
Yes, I'm a femaile, and I thinks it's too much money.
-
the tradition is you spend a months wages on one apparently
-
Not if you are on the receiving end.
-
If you can afford it and want to spend that much, sure, go for it! That is one lucky lady!
-
Forget the ring, buy me a new car. :P
-
Only if the future husband is earning less than $500,000 annually.
-
oh, not at all! If I get a ring like that i can always sell it, donate a fraction and invest the rest while still having a decent looking ring :)
-
For most people yes.
-
By about $29,000 to $29,500! That's ridiculous! Why not spend that money on the wedding, honeymoon, house down payment, college funds...?
-
depends on how much the man makes...
-
I will marry your Fiance :p
-
Depends upon your yearly income. To those making $500K and up, that's nothing.
-
Yes.
-
Way too much.
-
way. ya think?
-
Depends on your income level. For some billionaires, it may seem a little low...
-
Not if you can afford it. And as the girl, I would be in panic mode all the time! I wouldn't want to lose that thing!
-
For most people, yes. If you are filthily rich (as in millionaire-class), then go for it.
-
YES. Wait let me think about this......................HELL,YES!! No woman is worth it and I am a woman.
-
Yikes...all I could think about...was how many hungry people and animals I could feed with that much money...I don't mean just a meal...I'm talking about SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENTS... A well where there is no clean water for people to drink safely...Goats, sheep, chickens, animals to reproduce that are not only meat, but milk, and pelts, wool, hair that can be spun and woven into something to be sold, or wearable.... http://povertynewsblog.blogspot.com/2008/02/poor-haitians-resort-to-eating-dirt.html http://www.haitiundergod.org/feedingchildren.html A mere $1 a day will feed 15 children for a month. For the price of a soft drink or a bottle of water a day you can feed 15 children for a month. $10,000 will provide 270,000 meals $1,000 will provide 27,000 meals $100 will feed 50 children for a month $50 will feed 25 children for a month $30 will feed 15 children for a month $20 will feed 10 children for a month $10 will feed 5 children for a month
-
well lets see. car, or ring?
-
$30k for one little ring... paah!, that's nothing. It's the bit after that going to cost the real money!
-
I think it is too much for engagement ring ,and i see that noone should to spend money on an expensive ring just to show off ,even a ring for $100 with loving feelings in heart is more worth then $1000,000.
-
It seems love does have a price. Of course its too much.
-
yeah. even too much for a wedding
-
myself I think you should have 2 for that price,ah maybe 3, I think you put a few extra 000. on that:):0;0
-
No amount is too much (or too little) for an engagement ring.
-
No...Not if you have it and want to spend that much...
-
way. don't spend that much its not all based on the ring
-
Yes. My dad gets by with a family of four for $55000 or so per year, that's so exorbinent.
-
Yes, if you have that much to blow on a ring. Maybe, you should help out the poor. :)
-
True love should not have a price to prove it.
-
If you can afford it, do it. You'll get an incredibly beautiful ring for $30,000.
-
If you got money it's not but when you don't yeah $30,000 is way too much!
-
YOU THINK ugh ! remember ur not married yet, from where will he spend on u later on,,besides do u trust urslef never to scratch, lose, get this ring lost or anything...u better think twice
-
Only if it changes your life. Is it going to make you put off buying a home? Making your mortgage payment? Putting a kid through college? Eat rice and beans for a year (that maybe is not such a bad idea really!) If you even think that it is too much, then it's probably too much! Mine is $20K but hubby has the $$, and we're older, house is paid for, cars are paid for, boat (not that big) is paid for. So what the hey! If we were younger and needed to buy a home, had kids (or plans for kids), no way - invest the $$ and get the bling later!
-
If you are EXTREMELY rich ; then it probably isn't very expensive to you ... However; if you are an average , everyday person .. Blue Collar worker or exec making under $250,000 a year; Then YES; it is wayyyyyyy tooooo Much to pay for an engagement ring ... +5
-
Yes... its a little offensive to spend $30,000 on an engagement ring. That money could go to far more important causes.
-
yes.... i have given a beautiful ring to my fiance that had a beautiful stone. the ring cost me $980USD the ring appraised for $2,665USD. you can get the right ring that both beautiful and cheap as long as your heart is in the right place. the engagement is a promise that you will be there for her. you can take the rest of the cash and have a good wedding. I'm not rich but I love her so. she said yes.
-
Not if you have just won the lottery. Yes, its too much. you can buy a nice new automobile for that kind of money.
-
It is if I'm forced to live in a van.............down by the river.
-
Only if you make less than $180,000 a year.
-
Too much for an engagement ring, but just right for a house payment.
-
fck yesssss...Why would it even matter how much money he spent on it. a 25cent ring should make you happy if you love him.
-
Not if you can afford it.
-
It depends on the size! That's an awfully large amount of money!
-
Yes, I'd say $9000 is the limit.
-
That's Sugar daddy money.
-
For a good quality huge diamond, no, but it is a lot of money for something that should be given in love. Love can't be bought.
-
It's "chunk change" for Donald Trump. He paid $2 million for the engagement ring he gave his fiance, who is now his wife. A little pricey for the regular person. I'd rather have a new car.
-
it all depends on how much the man makes a year.
-
Holy crap, what does the guy do? The general rule that some people live by is 3 months salary. I told my man he could give me a ring out of a cracker jack box and I'd be happy. He got me a reasonable price one under $1000 that I love.
-
YES
-
Depends what your income is.I think a months salary is too much ,diamonds are not a good investment.
-
Much too much.
-
I wouldn't pay 30 pence for one.
-
Really does a $30,000 ring given as a prestige show off give more pleasure than a $100 ring given in true love for the person?
-
Hell YES! If it's not a BIG amount for you than please donate it. I will be happy to share the burden! :)
-
It's relative. 12/29
-
Isn't it suppose to be less that 2 months salary? Also, is your fiance going to give it back if you break up or divorce after a 1 year?? Lastly, I hope you already own your own home before giving up a ring like that LOL!!
-
Not if you make the salary to justify it.
-
yes
-
Only if a multi-billionaire and then with no since. Stupid in my estimation.
