I haven't tasted either. At least as far as I know.
-
Not that I've ever tried one ..... but, rats and squirrels belong in the rodent family, so I'm sure there is a similar taste to them - though, that would have to depend on what the rat and/or squirrel mainly ate. I'm thinking a rat that has eaten nothing but garbage probably won't taste all that great, while a squirrel that ate nothing but peanuts would taste.... nutty.

Gross. Are you bored with chicken and beef or something?
-
no rats are more tough, and the taste is more dry
-
I have no idea. I haven't eaten either. I wouldn't eat the rat though. they usually are carrying diseases. You are bound to get sick.
-
no squirrels taste gamier than rats
-
Tastes like chicken.

I've never eaten a rat, but squirrels are rodents. Maybe they'll taste the same.
-
Why don't you try it and get back to us on that?
-
I would not try either. >.<
-
I recall eating rats that they caught in grain fields - they tasted like rabbit. The taste of rat (like most other animals) is greatly affected by what they have been eating. If you live in the US, try grass fed beef and compare it to grain fed beef. This is why squirrels taste good when they have been living in an area where they get lots of nut.

Taste just like chicken!
-
Maybe like possum?

wouldnt know..... about either...
-
Well, squirrel tastes quite a bit better than rat. Rats usually taste like hot garbage. Squirrel is usually more meaty and has an odd sort of sweet flavor, but really, 'possum is the way to go.
