Evil by which religion's standards?

There are so many good candidates, it's hard to choose! Certainly religions that convinced their followers of the superiority of their religion and used that as a basis to kill people of lesser religions, as was the case in the Spanish Inquisition, would come to mind first.

All religions are peacefull. All man of religious institutions are like angels: The Pope, The Rabbis, Fethullah Gülen Hodja (Hodjaefendi)! Only satan is evil!

Religions, all religions, are an idea. How that idea is implemented causes any evil produced. Not the idea alone. This comes then, to those implementing the idea. The phrase 'the evil that men do' springs to mind.

Almost all of them are equally as evil. Institutions that support things like war (yeah don't point the finger at Islam, Christians have been doing it since the Crusades), and intolerance.

Any belief system that believes there are exceptional times when people can kill others or torture others. It never is. I would go so far as to say I would not kill anyone in self defence. However my morals would seriously be tested if my family was about to be killed and I could stop it. I think I would not kill but I may hurt the perpetrator. God willing I shall never be put in such a moral dilemma.

Any that: Demand people suspend reason in favor of blind faith. Expect people to accept as true things that in any other walk of life they would consider insane - without the slightest evidence to back up the claims. Try to replace science with their mythology. Teach that those who don't believe as they do are somehow lesser human beings. +5

I thing all religions have had there evil moments even the christian world you have the holy wars to where they went out on a killing spree to spred there belief and not to forget the witch burnings in salem ma. so I dont think anyone is so clean to point and say that one is bad or this one is bad you are your own person just be responable for what you do and thats all you can do

Any religion that manipulates children to believe that you need to believe in this certain otherwise you'll suffer forever in the firey depths of Hell. Personally, I think it should be a crime to scare children like this.
