I am making the assumption you are talking about pro or semi pro football. No, I find it a waste of time. Although, I can kinda see why a bunch of people will be so devoted to the home town team. When you think about it... Take The Seattle Mariners (I realize this is baseball) for instance. A person grows up in Seattle, having complete devotion for the Mariners. They buy Tee-Shirts, jackets, mugs, penants,... blah blah blah. This person buys season tickets and attends a lot of the games. While at the game, this person buys food and programs. What does the person get in return. The player makes MILLIONS, the owner makes millions, Coca Cola or whom ever makes millions. Other advertisers benefit financially. The ball park is subsidized by the local State and possibly federal tax payers. Yet, if the player is offered more in Detroit, without batting an eye, he will soon be playing for the Tigers. If Coke gets a better deal there gone. If the owner gets a better deal, there gone. The home town team you are so devoted to, is from Texas - DC - Japan - Sacramento - blah blah blah. And in a heart beat, any and all of them will be somewhere else tomorrow. And there is that old devoted fan, still worshiping the home team. Now if you were to get the local fire dept and police dept to play a game, who would care? No one. Although, they would actually be local players with a heart for the town they are playing in. In other words, professional sports are a joke.

I watch the odd CFL game but more of a Hockey fan
-
No. It's boring. And pointless.
-
Not anymore.
-
Yeah most of the time unless the games really boring ;p
-
I try to watch as many games as possible. Fantasy football makes games you don't really care about seem interesting. However, Sunday afternoon in the fall is a great time to go golfing. Nobody is on the course because they are all inside watching football.

Football is my religion. And it's a great break from all of the B.S. that goes on in this f-ed up world. Pointless? Yeah. That's the freakin" point! It's entertainment. It's a diversion from the sick crap going on around me every single day. When my team does good, I feel good. Simple as that. Wanna understand it? Think chess, except the guys are knocking the snot out of each other.
-
No not really.
