It's nothing compared to dropping your soap in the shower. No personal experience here just from what I have heard. Seriously to get the best food in certain places you have to say your are religious and practice that religion. A guy changed to Judaism and said he got much better but kosher food. He's Italian and went to synagogue every Saturday but he ate better. This is in New York I could imagine in most other states they would not give a damn what you were, you are eating the same crap. In some places it's downright disgusting. They did some studies thought and it was very interesting from a scientific and sociological standpoint. They fed the prisoners a better more nutritious diet with fruits and veggies, the amount of prison fights and acting out went down more then 50%, if I remember it was way more than 50%. That's why I think so many kids are not behaving well and have this ADD even mild autism, it all diet related.

If you ended up in a Phoenix jail you would be fed rotten food and the Sheriff brags about the crappy food he feeds the inmates. He is being investigated right now for some of the things he does...But in the mean time hes getting away with So Much! Dont go to jail in Phoenix if your guilty or not. (I by the way have never been there...its just all over the news.)

You're kidding right. They eat better than the free world. I should scan a menu and post it. They get bread and Water alright but its served with Chicken or Steak. Desert with every meal, Juice, Milk, and coffee. Its a disgusting waste of tax payers money. I understand you have to feed them, but you don't have to "SPOIL" them.

Jail is not a 5-star hotel. Jail is not intended to be a suite. Yes, the food sucks and rightly so. If you offered convicts T-Bone steaks in jail/prison, the crime rate would soar out of control. no one would be safe. So, whats it gonna be? Bologna sandwich or a steak for a person that has just raped your wife, daughter or girlfriend? Frankly, who cares what they are fed?

The pizza crust at Folsom is too thin, and they only have margarine for the toast at San Quentin. I'm trying to avoid a 3rd strike because they don't have lasagna at Leavenworth. :p

this is very true for example some foods and drinks like koolaide are labeled NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. and thats no joke the coffee they send the pods are not brewed withe coffee beans but the coffee roots sounds nasty? it is

depends on the prison. Some prisons grow their own food, some are given more money by the state then other prisons in other states. Some have good boards that pick good healthy food and some do not. In fact some studies have shown that many prisoners eat better than students of public schools.

It is not that bad in juvi. Id say worse in adult prison but the breakfast :O omg are amazing in england you can have full fry up in whitemoor.

If you like GOURMET bologna and day old bread, then you will love the food that most jails serve. Jail is not a five star hotel. Its really bad/

We had a guy at work on work release, they made him a sack lunch and the bologna was so thin you could see through it. People brought him food to work to make up, tastes ok but not enough...+5
