  • What a lame excuse! (and a lie)
  • i saw that and laughed for about 10 minutes. i hope his lying ass gets shipped out tomorrow
  • The lawyer should be charged with malpractice. If there was anything to this nonsensical notion, it would have come out long before the November election.
  • Deploy them to a federal jail. simple.
  • I think the reservist and his lawyer need to brush up on their Hawaii history. It became a state 2 years before Obama was born. I think the real problem is a color problem. No, not black. YELLOW. Coward yellow.
  • pussy!
  • That's his right. Stupid people have rights. Like everyone else, a stupid person should pay for his stupidity.
  • If he is willing to be responsible for the outcome of his actions, more power to him. Obama was elected in a fair election, unlike the Bush/Gore election of 2000 + 5
  • I think it's funny...
  • While I think that a lot of people voted for Obama for some silly reasons ("because he's black/he's going to pay for my house/he's young") he did win fair and square. The reservist is being very stupid, and is going to get in some hot water for vocally protesting this. Everyone is allowed their own opinion, but if he didn't want to get shipped out to wherever, he shouldn't have joined the army/navy/air force/Marines.
  • I think some rehash the same same old garbage because that way they never have to do anything with their own life - they always will have an excuse why they never amounted to anything. +5
  • Disobeying a direct order in time of war [we are at war aren't we? War on Terror?] is eligible for a firing squad. That'd be interesting today...
  • His reason is ridiculous. That's all I'll say about that. Not all soldiers support the president who is in office while they are serving. However, these people who CHOSE to enlist, even as reservists, need to remember that they signed up to protect and serve our ENTIRE country, not just our president. Sounds like he signed up thinking he'd never get deployed. Too bad for him. He'll lose this fight.
  • If Obama was not a citizen don't you think that Hillary Clinton would have used that during the primaries.
  • This individual should be ashamed of himself.
  • Doesn't matter what he thinks, he took an oath.
  • I think it shows not all US soldiers are "American heroes." Some are idiots and cowards.
  • Sounds like someone wants to get himself shot.
  • This guy is a crank - if there was anything to his opinion somebody sane would have already taken this story and ran with it.
  • They need to send his malingering backside to Ft. Leavenworth.
  • UPDATE - 15 July 09 http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/news/story/777472.html I won't copy the whole thing here, but this makes the story more interesting; "... Cook submitted a formal written request to Human Resources Command-St. Louis on May 8, 2009 volunteering to serve one year in Afghanistan with Special Operations Command, U.S. Army Central Command, beginning July 15, 2009. The soldier's orders were issued on June 9 ... "A reserve soldier who volunteers for an active duty tour may ask for a revocation of orders up until the day he is scheduled to report for active duty... there is an administrative process to request revocation of orders. As of this afternoon (15 July 09), Cook had not asked for his orders to be revoked." So let me get this straight. He *asked* to go to Afghanistan well after Obama had been sworn in and THEN decided Obama wasn't.... My head hurts!
  • Methinks that the reservist needs some wall to wall counseling. When he took his oath of enlistment, did he do so to his country or his President?
  • all 'servers' do not join to serve a president...although being proud of and secure in their Commander in Cheif is of a strong precedence to most.....they join to SERVE America and American's... he didn't join to SERVE in the first place..... i think a 'dishonorable discharge' , PRONTO.... so ,this cowardly idiot, thinks he does not SERVE Obama STATESIDE....????he has to deploy .....???? all stateside military personell do not serve their country ,people and C in C..???? he should not even be begun to be given 'a second thought'....he's in military and the military should deal with such ...IMMEDIATELY.......
  • I should think that if he doesn't report for duty he should be AWOL - and be treated like anyone else who doesn't show up. It's not a soldier's place to be questioning the president. +5
  • He's an idiot. So is his coochie-plug of a lawyer. For everyone's sake, I hope they court martial him and ship him off to the dirtiest, most remote, ass crack of a military post that they can conceive. Then, every single day, they should feed everyone on the post burritos, refried beans and Ex-Lax and then assign his cowardly butt to latrine duty... on a permanent basis.
  • Funny really funny is what I think, it would be even more funny if he could prove Obama was not a US citizen then we'd have Biden as President and he is even worse than Obama.
  • he is a coward ...refusing to do his job....no grounds for bad behavior....bad example ...should be made an example of and punished accordingly...he serves America and is paid by Americans....not obama....
  • i think he's taking the lead from the draft dodging chickenhawks of the conservative movement.
  • I think he is chicken shit to leave so he is looking for any excuse not to, or at least something to try and weazel himself out of it.
  • Just remember, no republican has ever ever lied. EVERYTHING a republican says is always true. Even Kelly Ann Conway whose job it is to lie (but don't tell beaker), has never lied. Democrats though... working people, normal people, people who aren't rich a**holes trying to rob everyone else, libtards, whatever you call them: ALL LIARS!!! LIE LIE LYING LIBTARD LIARS. Only republicans tell the truth. Think halo when you think republican. Jesus was republican. Gumby was a republican. Mr Rogers (who hardly ever molested anybody)..a republican. All wearing halos! ..unlike evil libtards *hsss*..So you see this chicken soldier was quoting a republican. So he should have been excused from doodee.
  • I'm was never an Obama fan, but they should court-martial his ass.
  • This post was presumably written by a child. Never mind that there have been numerous sophisticated studies showing that to be false. The defense of that reservist would work about as well fighting a speeding ticket based on one's opinion that the posted speed limit is too slow. On top of that, in the military any soldier refusing to follow orders because they disagree with the officer giving the orders is in serious trouble.
