  • actually yes.. petty of me isn't it?.. i do get over it eventually, i just put the visual out of my mind
  • nope, I could care less if they were ugly as long as the music is good, I don't care what they look like I listen to music for music, I'm not into that whole buy the album, buy the image, buy the poster, buy the tshirt, buy the lunchbox, everyone has to be good looking, you don't have to sing well, we'll fix that in the studio, you don't have to sing live, you can lipsync it, just look hot and dance....that's not music to me. I draw a stark line between musicians and performers.... and musicians for the better part of the last 50 years haven't been very pretty.
  • No!! Almost the opposite! Popular music was better before the videos determined who was attractive enough to keep their contract. You think The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, et. al. would have succeeded as well if they had launched in today's era?
  • It has happened to me more than once. It's just because when you love their music so much you feel like you get to know them and you create a picture of what they look like and who they are in your mind and then when they look nothing like you thought it's kind of shocking. Sometimes it makes me see their music from a different point of view and I actually get more out it though. I have never stopped listening to an artist because they were ugly though. That has nothing to do with their musical talent and most artists that are beautiful can't sing worth shit anyways!
