My dad knew he was fixing to die. He told me and my grandmother that he was going home. (he was in the hospital at the time) and we thought he meant to our house. My grandmother told him, he would have to get better first, and he said no I'm going home I'm getting all my hair back, and I'm getting all my teeth back.(which they weren't bad to begin with) and he died that night. So yes some people know.

Some do - some don't. It's a blessing to get a little fore-knowledge of the event.

I believe so because I have had a near death experience but it wasn't my time to go yet.
