  • People go to jail for that around here. (And on a good day. maybe if they left the kid in the same conditions.)
  • That was cruel, to leave the dog like that. I would have done the same thing you did
  • You did real good! But I would have called the police. They aren't as strapped for personnel as the SPCA.
  • I can not understand how a person would leave their dog in a hot car like that its a known fact that it is fatal. I feel you did the right thing! More people should care like you did and maybe some of these violent acts on dogs/cats and other animals and small children would stop!! thanks for your compassion!
  • Good for you!:)
  • You were definitely not out of line, as long as it was fairly hot in the car.
  • NO! LOVE YOU <3
  • You did the right thing. If it was hot enough that the dog was in danger of dying in the car I would definitely call the police. The owner can be charged with animal neglect or cruelty for that.
  • Not at all. Over the line would have been to kick the window in. I might have done either, depending on my mood; if I had to sit and watch that for 2+ hours, I might have lost it, put on a hoodie and a hat, and just busted open their back window. That would be over the line. lol
  • I've been known to sit in my car and confront someone who has left a companion animal in a hot car. I've also, nearly come to blows with very large men, but I never back down. I've also been know to pose as a veteranarian to make my point. I do what ever it takes to get people to think about what they are doing to "their best friend". I applaud you. More people need to defend those who can not speak. Well done!
  • Not out of line! Thanks for sticking up for the dog! I would have called the police.
  • NO!!! Pets can't speak for themselves so you did the right thing. In my opinion~ +5
  • You did the right thing.
  • sometimes you have to be a little pushy with people when it comes to things of this nature...If they had any common sense in the first place, that would have never happened...I mean people with no common sense are the ones you need to be little pushy with...
  • Call 911 - then they have to respond - I know it's not tecnically an emergency - -but it is to that poor dog. Stpuid people - just like leaving your kid in a car on a hot day. Some people have no common sense. Thank you.
  • No, you weren't out of line, and you did the right thing. I did the same thing when I saw some guy hit his dog, and then locked him/her in the car in 75 degree heat. It's just wrong. Kudos to you, sir! :-)
  • not at all! no animal should be treated like that, you did the right thing!
  • My husband would have smashed the window, so I think you did good. +5
  • Not at all. You did the right thing by calling SPCA, and I too would have left a similar note. "Out of line" is doing something like "damaging the car" along with the note. It's great you went that extra mile and expressed your disgust and anger at the dunkerhead.
  • Yep. Out of line for sure. Over the top. I mean WTF is it to YOU anyway??? Well that WOULD have been my thinking very likely. That was until *I* became a dog owner. And now? I'd applaud you! Agree wholeheartedly it was the ONLY course of action to take. And think that the world is a far better & kinder place for the presence of people like you. Love your work! :)
  • okay... the only thing you're out of the line is calling that guy an asshole? Apart from that, it's fine. BTW, how do you know that the dog is in there for 2 hours?
  • Where I live, it's against the law to leave a dog in a car. I would have called the police. You were not out of line at all.
  • Hell no! I would've broken the window and taken the dog home with me. Who needs a note?
  • I think you did the right thing - although there was no need to be abusive.
  • Your girlfriend is absolutely wrong. I hope the SPCA got there in time to save it. I saw that once and I went into a local department store to ask if they would make an announcement in case the owners were shopping. I gave him the license number and to my delight his announcement went something like this: Someone has left a dog in the car. It's 80 degrees outside and considerably hotter inside the car. The car is a 91 Pontiace, License XXXXXXX If someone doesn't come get the dog out of the car in the next 10 minutes, security will break the windows to get it out. Don't say you weren't warned. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< The car wasn't even in their parking lot! An animal can die within minutes in a hot car. Thank you for what you did.
  • Not out of line AT ALL!! I hope the SPCA report the owners for animal cruelty.
  • You did the right thing. Where I live you call the cops and they get a big ticket. It's illegal here.
  • What did she think was out of line? The a**hole? I think you hit the nail on the head and did exactly the right thing and said exactly the right thing. She should be proud of you. I am. Happy Sunday! :)
  • you are 100% right,thanks man.
  • not out of line at all, i would do the same, in fact if i saw a dog in car on a hot day and it looked like it was dying right then and there i wouldnt think twice about smashing the window!!!!! and i would just have to face the police about it! anything to do with animals and cruelty gets me sooooo angry!!!!!
  • If I was there and thought the dogs were suffocating or dying, I would have broken the window myself. You did good, some people are so idiots.
  • Your girlfriend, in this case, is absolutely wrong.
  • I'd have been even more out of line! I'd have broke the dam window, even at the risk of being bitten!! I saw two dogs die because of owner stupidity a few years ago at a local picnic are, I arrived just as the dogs were being lifted from the car, it was far to late to save them although many tried with water and massage, they never made it!! :-( when the owner turned up he was very nearly lynched I really could have pasted him myself too!! why are some people SOOO dumb?? :-/ you did the right thing, well done!!
  • i don't think so. i despise animal cruelty and i would have given the b@$t@rd what for, had i been there.
  • Where I live thats illegal.... so no you weren't out of line.
  • You were nice I would have raised hell until the law came and called the animal control to come help the dog.
  • I agree, not out of line at all, you would have been out of line totally if you had just ignored it... If the dogs had looked in distress in any way I would have smashed a window too!
  • I don't think you were out of line. Something more needs to be done for young children who are left in the car by themselves.
  • I would have done the same thing. I consider that cruelty and don't think you were out of line at all.
  • Next time. . .call the police so they can break the window and rescue the animal!
  • No I don't think you were out of line at all that is just cruel to leave an animal in the car espescially how hot it can get inside of a car. If you are going somewhere and you know you can't take the dog inside then leave it at home. I hope the dog is okay and with someone who will realize that leaving a dog in the car for two hours is the same thing as putting it in the oven.
  • You were in the right. Is you GF some sort of super-passifist, or was she concerned that the person might come after you in retaliation?
  • i dont think you did anything wrong
